Download:
Download "WinJab.exe" by clicking the
link.
[Latest WinJab version 0.9.2.25: Jul. 13, 2000]

Install:
Double
click on the downloaded file "WinJab.exe" and follow the instructions
given. Start WinJab by clicking "Start -> Program -> Jabber
->WinJab".

Configuration:
3.1
When you start WinJab you come to a window called "WinJab" configuration.
Chose the button "New Profile". A new window will appear
"Winjab Profiles". Choose the name you want (i.e. James)
to call the profile and press "OK". Confirm by pressing "Yes"
then. Now you got a new profile to configure.
3.2 At the "Server" line, fill in hotjabber.com
3.3 Choose a name you want to identify yourself with at "Name"
(i.e. jamie)
3.4 Choose a secret password at "Passwd" and remeber
it!!!
3.5 Press "OK" and do not fill in any other lines, they
are used internally by Jabber.
3.6 A confirmation window appear saying "You are not autorized
on this server. Create a new account". Press "Yes"
3.7 Congratulations! You are now logged on to hotjabber.com!!!

Connect/Disconnect:
Press the
Connect icon to connect WinJab to the HotJabber.com server. It
looks impressed when you are online. Press it again to Disconnect.

Add
a user (JID):
Press the Add icon and a window "New Roster Item" appear.
5.1 Choose which "User Type" to add. (i.e. sara@hotjabber.com)
5.2 Associate a "Nickname" with the jabber address that
is seen in the Roster.
5.3 Press "OK" button. Now the user is added to the Roster.

Delete
a user (JID):
Highlight the user you want to delete in the roster. Then press the remove
button and confirme the removal.

Search
for a user (JID):
7.1 Choose menu "Roster -> Search for Person"
7.2 Choose "Search Via -> Jabber User Directory"
7.3 Fill in the properties you want to search for.

Send
a message:
8.1 Either double click on a user on the Roster and a "Send
Message" window will appear or
8.1 Press the new message button to get a "Send Message"
window and fill in the address to the user.

Reply
to a message:
If someone has sent you a message you reply just by pressing the reply
button.

Open
a separate chat window:
If you want to chat with the one who sent the latest message, press the
chat button.

Pressing this button lets you see only logged on users.
